Hervé Novelli: “Paris, Rome and Madrid should convince our Algerian friends that they took the wrong decision”
The French Minister of Trade

France intends to internationalize the Algerian supplementary Finance Act 2009 and its repercussions on the trade activity between Algeria and its European partners on the agenda of the Mediterranean Union, against the backdrop of though measures in the control of goods across the ports, as Paris government is seeking to widen the debate on this issue to its Italian and Spanish partners.

  • The French Minister of Trade, Handicrafts, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and Tourism, Hervé Novelli, said that the issue would come up during the meeting of the Trade Minister of the Mediterranean Union, on the next December 9.
  • The French Minister explained before the deputies of the national assembly and the lower house of the French parliament, that the problem of the supplementary finance Act in Algeria will be discussed in the ministerial meeting by a French initiative.
  • “The repercussions of the Act are not only confined to France but our neighbours in Italy and Spain as well. Paris, Rome and Madrid should move together in order to convince our Algerian friends that they are taking the wrong decision”.
